Hi all,
ReplyDeleteI hope your spring semester is off to a good start and that your classes are going well. Today, thursday January 29, the Morgridge Center for Public Service hosted an annual Public Service Fair featuring numerous non-profit agencies and organizations as a way for students to become involved with and volunteer for their organization of interest. These organizations offer different kinds of volunteering opportunities in many fields and areas. The names of all organizations that took part today's event can be found at this url: http://www.morgridge.wisc.edu/documents/Spring_2015_Public_Service_Fair.pdf. For academic mentors that have already been assigned to a student, this is a great opportunity to share this link with your student and to see if they are interested in volunteering for a specific organization or in a specific area they may have in mind. In the process, they will find new friends and make a difference in their community. For academic mentors not currently assigned to a student, this is also a great way to volunteer yourself in the area that is of interest to you.
Also just a reminder that the Spring student org fair is this Wednesday, February 4th 5-8pm at the Kohl Center. This is a great opportunity to get involved on campus and explore your career/hobby interests with other UW-Madison students!
